I got up before the others and took a walk over to the main strip. Here you can see several of the "themed" casino hotels. Since they all offer essentially identical gambling and accommodations and comparable food, they differentiate themselves by ever more elaborate visual design. The Eiffel tower in the distanace is half-scale. I believe the Statue of Liberty is as well.

The others are up. We go to the Luxor Hotel for breakfast. The casino hotels all have extensive buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The buffets range from cheap to quite expensive ($5 to $25 for dinner). The selection and/or quality varies accordingly. Breakfast at a fancy hotel like the Luxor costs about $10. You can bring a good appetite and stuff yourself so you don't need lunch later!

This hulk of a plane has been parked in the vacant lot by the motel for years, but when we come back a week later, it turns out it will be gone.

We now pack our stuff into the two rental vehicles and hit the road.
