March 2001 Southwest Desert Trip

During the second half of March 2001, a group of seven of us went on a camping/hiking trip to the southwestern United States. The trip was planned and organized by Andrew Lavigne, our capable leader, who has put together many such trips in the past. His trip planning pages, which give many details missing here, may be seen on his web site. [Update 2004/01/08: Andrew has belatedly posted his pictures and commentary].

Without further ado, here is the trip in chronological order.

About the pictures:

If your browser does them, the pop-up comments for the pictures will generally be the date and time at which the picture was taken. This allows you, for example, to track the progress of our hikes. If your browser does not display pop-up comments, the filenames of the pictures start with the date and time in MMDDHHMMSS format.

Most of the pictures are my own, and have IMG in the name. Where my own pictures are incomplete, I used pictures from Peter Guidry (DSCN in the name) or Peter Krug (P00 in the name).
